Buildings rising high

Some pictures of high rise buildings in Hong Kong and a view from our hotel window (only 22nd floor).

The crowd is in Mong Kok area - shopping for electronics and clothes.

Food and even more food!

Hong Kong has some great restaurants and the Cantonese cuisine is at its best here. Just some examples of the great food we had there: sea cucumber (a big fat sea slug), Peking duck with plum sauce, noodles, pork and many more.

Back to Asia! Hong Kong.

After a few moments of hesitation I decided to continue my blog. It's not about around the world in two months anymore of course but more about travelling in general.

This summer we had one big trip to Asia planned.
First stop: Hong Kong. We left Paris on 12th July.

Here are some photos from the airport and the view from the plane. Plus some city architecture.

Last Moments In Boiling Sun

As it was my last day on the island today i got up at 7am and went to the beach. Even before noon the sun was so hot it was hard to stay there. It was 36 degrees in shade!
I then took a speedboat to mainland leaving Tubtim Beach behind.
Once in Ban Phne, I had a quick look at the market where you can buy all sorts of dried seafood. Miam, I'd try it all!

Seafood, even prehistoric one!

On Sunday I went to a beach seafood restaurant for dinner. I fancied mangda crab which comes straight from prehistoric science books! Just have look below.
Bananas: not bigger than your small finger and so sweet and tasty.

Koh Samed / paradise

Just have a look how beautiful the island is. The only thing that could be missing is a coral reef where I could go scuba diving.

Koh Samed, a piece of paradise

It is my third day on a small island Koh Samed.
It is very popular with wealthy Bangkokians and very busy on the weekends.
I took a bus from Bangkok and then a speed boat straight to the island. I am staying in Tubtim Resort and you can see photos of my bungalow below.
The weather is very hot and the sea doesn't bring any refreshment as the water is at 29 degrees...
The food is as usual amazing, you can get Thai massage on the beach, there are quite a few bars and night clubs.
I'll stay here until Wednesday when I fly back home to Paris.
Interesting fact about the island: there is no water here so it is brought over from mainland by boats everyday!
